Kalwun's dental services are available for clients of all ages.

Dental services are available at our Miami and Coomera clinics. Our aim is to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to improve their oral health.

Located at the Kalwun Health Service - Miami Clinic and Coomera Integrated Health and Wellbeing Hub, services offered include:

  • education and advice on keeping teeth and gums healthy
  • treatment services including:
    • Dental screening and check ups
    • Emergency treatment for toothache
    • Fillings
    • Extractions
    • Scaling and cleaning
    • Root Canal

If you do not show for your scheduled appointment, you may not be offered further appointments.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for a dental appointment you must be a regular ongoing patient at one of our Kalwun health clinics. Regular patients are defined as 3 visits in 2 years. 
  • Free dental is only available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who reside at the same residence as listed on file. Including patients with NSW address. 
  • Non-Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander patients who are already Dental patients prior to 2022 onwards will also receive ongoing dental care. 
  • Adults and their dependants to be eligible for free dental care they must be a Queensland resident and, where applicable, receive benefits from any of the following concession cards:

    • Pensioner Concession Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
    • Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink
    • Health Care Card
    • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
    • Queensland Seniors Card

Fees will apply if you do not meet the above criteria. 

Pricing

Kalwun's dental services are free for clients who satisfy the eligibility requirements above. Fees for clients with no concession card are:

  • $50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their partners
  • $100 for non-Indigenous people who are not partners of an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander person. If these people have a concession card they are still required to pay the $100 fee.

If a patient has a NSW Centrelink concession card they are not eligible for free dental and are required to pay the above fees.
