2x Family Wellbeing Workers

We are currently seeking to fill the position of 2 x Family Wellbeing Workers within our Child & Family Support Services division. 1 position will be full-time and based at our Burleigh Heads Office, and 1 x temporary (30th April 2020) part-time 22.8 hours a week based out of our Coomera site. 

As the successful candidate your role will be to work as part of a team of professionals within the Family Wellbeing program, specifically working with Aboriginal children and families to prevent any likelihood of a child entering or re-entering the child protection system. The Family Wellbeing Program provides support services where the principle purpose of the intervention is to assist families (specifically parents) in the practical care needs of their child/ren including reunification and family preservation outcomes.

 Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Minimum Certificate III relevant to the human services industry
  • Knowledge and experience with a range of relevant intervention strategies and frameworks and skills
  • Ability to network and establish sound working relationships with related services, especially other community agencies and Government Departments.
  • Possess demonstrated experience in undertaking assessments that identify needs, strengths and risks in families and developing interventions to address child and family safety, wellbeing concerns and strengthen parenting skills
  • A high level of communication skills including oral, written and computer based and including spreadsheets, email, internet, digital media etc.
  • Experience working in a child protection type service.

*IDENTIFIED POSITIONS - To perform these roles it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. A Confirmation of Aboriginality will need to be provided. 

Additional Information:

Remuneration $33.77 per hour . All Kalwun positions require successful applicants to satisfy a national criminal history check, hold a blue card for working with children, and hold a current drivers' license.
