A 'Welcome to Country' is a small, formal ceremony where Traditional Custodians welcome people to their land.

The ceremony involves a statement or a speech made in Aboriginal dialect, translated for those in attendance, to show respect to the Traditional Custodians of the land.

At this ceremony, the Traditional Custodians give their blessing to the event taking place on the land. How this ceremony is best conducted may vary according to the location of the event and the traditional practices of the Aboriginal community.

A 'Welcome to Country' will be a unique and culturally inspiring addition to your event or opening ceremony and is the perfect way to welcome your guests, especially international visitors, to Australia.

Kalwun acknowledges the various Traditional Custodians on whose land we meet, share, learn, work and live. We pay our respect to the Elders past, present and emerging and extend our respect to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people from all Nations of this land.
