Foster and Kinship Carer Week 2023 will run from 29 April to 6 May.

During this week we express our gratitude to more than 6,000 foster and kinship carer families in Queensland for their dedication and commitment. We give acknowledgement and extend our thanks to foster and kinship carer families for opening their hearts and homes to children and young people in need.

The week is an opportunity for everyone to acknowledge the valuable role they play in our communities.

We would especially like to acknowledge our very own Kalwun Kinship and Foster Carers for all their deadly work and endless commitment to caring for our jarjums and young people.  This a special job that requires unique people with extraordinary hearts. Thank you for making a difference.

Kalwun acknowledges the various Traditional Custodians on whose land we meet, share, learn, work and live. We pay our respect to the Elders past, present and emerging and extend our respect to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people from all Nations of this land.

WARNING: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website may contain images, voices or names of deceased persons in photographs, film, audio recordings or text.
