Kalwun holds a range of events yearly that celebrate First Nations culture, heritage, and traditions.
These events bring together community members, local artists, and visitors to engage with and appreciate First Nations cultures through music, dance, storytelling, theatre, visual arts, and more. The aim is to showcase Indigenous talent and provide a platform for artists to connect with the wider community.

2025 Performers Expression of Interest
For 2025, Kalwun is seeking expressions of interest from talented performers to participate in upcoming community events. We are looking for a diverse range of performances that reflect the richness and vibrancy of First Nations peoples and their art forms.
The aim is to showcase Indigenous talent and provide a platform for artists to connect with the wider community.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Performers must be First Nations artists or groups
- Willingness to share and engage with community members in a respectful and meaningful way.
Performer Categories
Music: Traditional and contemporary First Nations music, including bands, solo performers, DJs and ensembles.
Dance: Traditional dance groups, solo dancers, or contemporary dance performances that incorporate cultural storytelling.
Theatre and Storytelling: Performers with experience in Indigenous theatre, monologues, or oral storytelling.
Visual Arts: Live art creation, installations, or interactive art.
Other Performances: If you have a unique performance or art form that reflects First Nations culture, we encourage you to apply.
Selection Process
All submissions will be reviewed by our events committee, and selected performers will be contacted. Depending on available grants, some events will be paid, while others may be unpaid. Our goal is to curate a diverse and representative program that showcases the emerging talent of First Nations artists.
