Kalwun Health and Wellbeing Services offer a unique combination of primary health care along with community-based services to the Gold Coast community.

It is the only Aboriginal community controlled health service addressing the primary health care needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on the Gold Coast. With clinics in Coomera, Miami and Bilinga, Kalwun offers services including bulk billing, access to general practitioners (GPs), comprehensive screening, onsite allied health services, immunisation, health checks, dental services, targeted health programs, health promotion activities, community days as well as transport to clinics.

We join in the nationwide goal to close the health and life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation.

A variety of allied health services are available across Kalwun's health clinics.

Kalwun Health Service offers an accessible and affordable dental service including screening, treatments and education programs at the Miami health clinic.

To be eligible for dental appointments at a Kalwun Health Clinic, you must be a regular ongoing patient of the Kalwun Health Service.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are more likely than other Australians to have lost all their teeth and have gum disease and are less likely to have received preventive dental care and more likely to have untreated dental disease (Jamieson et al. 2010).

Kalwun's dental service aims to improve overall oral health in our mob for children and adults alike and close the gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Australians in this area.

Kalwun offers a range of medical services to keep our mob healthy including GPs, immunisation and health assessments at our three clinics on the Gold Coast.

We offer access to male and female doctors, nurses, Aboriginal health workers and transport support.

Combining on-site clinic services with travelling community-based services, our team is well placed to assist you with your health goals.

Kalwun offers access to male and female doctors, nurses and Aboriginal health workers at our medical clinics across the Gold Coast.

Kalwun runs regular programs for men and women which provide a range of free activities and a chance to meet new people and make new friends.

Kalwun Health Service facilitates targeted health programs to combat specific health issues in our mob across a variety of ages and health conditions.

Programs include research projects, the Deadly Choices program for schools and the community, mental health, alcohol and other drug support, school health visits, chronic disease assistance, child and maternal health support and wellbeing programs.

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly changed how we live and work and Kalwun's vision that “our people live long, healthy, prosperous and happy lives” is as important as ever.

This page provides information and links to further resources regarding the pandemic including vaccinations and testing.
